Act n°1 is a womenswear label established at the beginning of 2016 in Reggio Emilia – Northern Italy – by designer duo Luca Lin and Galib Gassanoff. The brand’s name has a precise meaning: it is intended as the designers’ infancy like the first act of their life, which inspired them in developing the brand.
One of Act n°1 main purposes is to tell a story. Act n°1 essence and image is all about its designer’s personal story and multicultural background with a focus on their childhood, home and lifestyle where antique chinese fine art and azerbaijani craftsmanship collide. The brand’s first collection – that has been Resort 2017 Collection – was presented during White Show in Milan and it has been selected by Vogue Italia as one of the selected brands at the Vogue Talent Corner during Milan Fashion Week on September 2016. In July 2017, Act n°1 won the ’Who is on next?’ contest organized by AltaRoma with Vogue Italia. On Vogue US August 2018 issue,Act n°1 was selected among the eightbold talents remaking fashion as we know it.
